Since my last post I have continued to,wind my way through Galicia. The landscape in the first part of Galicia is apparently very similar to that of Ireland, the fields and the pathways are all delineated by rock fences and my friend Martin from Dublin says it is very much like home. The Galician people have Celtic roots and their Gallego dialect is based on this. As you pass through some of the villages the music will like sound reminiscent of Ireland.
We have suffered a little from the weather, it has been off and on and sadly the poncho is getting a workout. It is not unexpected however and it you can start each day knowing it will either rain or it won't.
I have stayed in two places since my last post, Morgade and Eirexe. Both of these villages are very small and the pilgrims play an important role. Because the villages are small you are also more likely to see people you know and it makes for a great time catching up with people.
Today I am in Melide, it is a bigger city and the Albergue is not that nice but it is what it is. I had a great lunch in the same restaurant Marilyn was in just a few days ago, thoroughly enjoyed the pulpo.
With the rain of the last few days there are fewer pictures to post and I am currently updating this blog from the lobby of a friends hotel, will update further as I move along the Way.
Until next time
